(May 2006) 21st Century Rehab physical therapists recently attended a two-day continuing education course “Diagnosis and Treatment of Movement System Impairment Syndromes.” The course was offered in Ames as part of the 2006 Spring Conference of the Iowa Physical Therapy Association & Foundation.

The focus of this course was on the concepts and principles associated with movement system impairments (MSI) and their role in the mechanical musculoskeletal pain syndromes. This course will provide the physical therapists with the tools to identify movement imbalances, establish the appropriate diagnosis, and develop a corrective exercise prescription and carefully instruct his patients how to carry out the exercise program.
